The term "psychotherapy" covers various different therapies which collectively are known as talking therapies. It's not just counselling, as it is solution focused and involves investigating the root cause of thoughts and feelings with a view to bringing about awareness and understanding. Once the causes are identified, psychotherapy helps the individual to come to terms with past events and to develop coping strategies and techniques to move forward and initiate positive change.
CBT – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Incorporating this type of therapy into your treatment programme enables me to teach you how to identify the root cause of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, allowing you to take control of them rather than them being automatic reactions. Once you have an understanding of how they are all interlinked, you can start to identify them in advance. Identifying thoughts and feelings before you act on them can create real changes in your behaviour, whether that is stress, anxiety, depression, anger management, pain control, smoking, weight control or phobias.
NLP – Neuro-Linguistic Programming
NLP explores the relationship between how you think (neuro), how you communicate both verbally and non-verbally (linguistic) and your patterns of behaviour and emotion (programmes).
NLP is a series of therapeutic techniques to detect and reprogram subconscious patterns of thought and behaviour in order to overcome self-limiting beliefs and performance-limiting behaviours, thus promoting self development and positive change for your benefit. The changes effected are often speedy and permanent.
EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique
EFT is an advanced form of psychological acupressure, without the use of needles, and is used to reprogram the mind to eliminate negative thinking patterns which lead to negative emotions. It combines fingertip tapping on certain energy meridian points whilst I skilfully guide your thoughts and verbal communication to effectively address many issues from phobias to stress. As emotional stress can contribute to pain, disease and physical ailments, EFT also often provides astonishing relief from physical discomfort.
